  “Start with where the element sits and what the fire requirement is. External wall that must be non-combustible: ShapeShell™-RC. External geometry that is large, deeply cantilevered or too heavy in concrete: ShapeShell™-RT. Internal ceilings, bulkheads, column wraps and decorative elements: ShapeShell™-RG. Where a project sits between two of those, the decision is usually made on weight against the existing structure.”

• Is ShapeShell non-combustible?

  “ShapeShell-RC is. It is tested to AS/NZS 1530.1 by Ignis Labs with a result of not deemed combustible. ShapeShell-RT is not non-combustible: it is a polymer composite that achieves Group 1 under AS 5637 and B-s2, d0 under EN 13501-1. Both are genuinely strong fire results, but only RC satisfies a non-combustible external wall requirement.”
