    • What equipment do I need to make gin commercially?

“For gin made from purchased base spirit, start with a suitable botanical distillation or formulation process, proofing and blending capacity, cleaning, storage and bottling. Making your own base adds fermentation and, for grain, mashing plus the separation needed for a suitable neutral spirit. Size the installation around your complete working week.”

    • Can I make London Dry gin on an iStill?

“Yes. NextGen gives you control over botanical distillation, reflux and collection strength so you can develop a London Dry process. In the EU, London gin also specifies the base alcohol, minimum distillate strength and permitted additions. Start with that product brief, then choose the configuration and recipe together with our team.”

    • Is vapor infusion better than boiler infusion?

“Vapor infusion generally gives a lighter botanical expression; boiler infusion is our starting point for a bolder gin. Vapor contact can be particularly useful for flowers, while prolonged boiling can introduce cooked flavors.”

    • Why does gin turn cloudy after dilution?

“Reducing alcohol strength can make some botanical oils less soluble, causing louching. Test botanical loading, extraction, water and finished strength together. Clarity and flavor both belong in your product specification.”
