Is it safe to use my garage door with a snapped cable?
Answers from the sources
AZ Garage Door Repair
“No. Once a cable snaps, the door becomes unbalanced and can drop suddenly when you try to operate it. Pull the manual disengage cord on your opener (the red cord hanging down) so the opener disconnects from the door, leave the door alone, and call us. Don't try to operate it manually either.”
